Be More, Not Do More: The Shift High-Achieving Women Need Most

There’s a cost to living a life that looks right but feels wrong.

And it’s a cost high-achieving women pay every single day.

Not because you’re not working hard enough. Not because you’re not learning enough. Not because you’re not trying hard enough to "get it right."

It’s because you’re overdoing and under-being.

It’s because you’re chasing a version of success that was never truly yours to begin with.

The Invisible Finish Line

You know the cycle:

Your boss sets the quarterly goal.

The annual target.

The "stretch" metrics.

You bust your ass to hit them. You sacrifice. You sprint. You push.

Even your best work becomes just... the baseline.

No wonder so many of us feel like we're constantly chasing an invisible finish line.

And it doesn’t stop at work.

It bleeds into our bodies. It bleeds into our joy.

You start projecting the same impossible expectations onto your family. Onto your friends. Onto yourself.

Even your workouts start to feel like a scoreboard. Even your hobbies turn into checklists. Even rest feels like something you have to "earn."

Until eventually, nothing feels like enough.

Not the promotion.

Not the marathon.

Not even the life you once dreamed about.

Because doing more—and expecting more—will never fill a life built out of someone else’s definition of success.

The Real Truth

Here’s the truth:

You don’t need to do more. You need to be more—of you.

You’re not constantly beating yourself up because you can’t hit the goal. You’re beating yourself up because EVEN WHEN YOU DO... it still doesn’t feel like enough.

Because you’ve been chasing a version of success that was never truly yours to begin with.

You don’t need another certificate.

You don’t need another strategy call.

You don't need another list of goals to crush.

You need one messy move toward the woman you already are underneath the noise.

Because clarity doesn’t come from thinking. It comes from trusting, trying, and becoming.

You can still be the badass that is killing all of the goals set for you, but until you figure out what makes you happy, it will never be enough.

How to Start Right Now

Time to set your focus on being more, not doing more.

I chose to walk instead of run today. Anyone who knows me knows that running has been tightly tied to my identity.

But lately, I’m learning that maybe it’s not what lights me up anymore.

I realized I was even chasing the wind with my running goals — never fully being content with how fast I was getting in my races. And that was not a fun mentality to have. It was too similar to my work mentality and that is not for me any longer.

Now, I’m finding space for a new journey in how I move my body. And it’s been SUPER exciting.

Because at the end of the day, we don’t need to chase perfection. We just need to move.

Messy beats perfect. Every. Single. Time.

So where do you start?

Ask yourself today:

“Where am I performing instead of living?”

It might be your job. It might be your body. It might even be your relationships.

Pick one place. Choose one brave, messy move.

And let that be enough for today.

Because clarity doesn’t come from crushing more goals. It comes from choosing yourself, one small move at a time.
